Hardware issue:
Sometimes hardware is also the root cause of the computer setup freezing or not responding. For example recently if you connected some hardware on your computer than simply remove it temporarily to check whether, that particular hardware is responsible for the computer locks up.
Serious issue with Windows:
Even after going thorough all this steps, even then if your computer is locking up. It means your computer has seriously encountered the problems of some important files of operating system being getting corrupted. So here you can install your operating system CD on you disc drive and run the repair option, and all the corrupted files would be restored. Nut I would recommend you all to create the back up of all your files before you do repairing of your computer.
Even after doing the repair and re-installation of your operating system, still if you face these problems, than it may be caused of your hardware issues like your CPU, Mother board, RAM(random access memory) and power supply. If you have extra available parts or have a friend or co-worker with a similar configuration that is willing to allow you to test their hardware in your computer, try swapping these parts to determine if they are at fault. Otherwise, you will need to have the computer serviced.
